Alysion takes place in the world of Digimon Liberator. Its story introduces Kanata, a card-game beginner, and her online friend Futre.
The world of Liberator
Bandai describes DIGIMON LIBERATOR as a popular online card game set in the metaverse space Lacuna. Players use a D-STORAGE deck-case device and access the world through a full-dive headset called T.A.L.E.
The Alysion story is set in the same wider world as the Digimon Liberator webcomic and web novel. You do not need a lore recap to start learning the card game.
The people to know
Kanata Hondo loves Digimon but is new to card games. Futre, her online friend, invites her into Liberator. Valner Dragnogh leads the Di:WO guild; Bandai also introduces a mysterious white Digimon named Gemmon.
These descriptions come from the official character page and avoid plot reveals beyond its introductions.
